Structural AutoCAD Technician
EIDS is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Structural AutoCAD Technician with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in drafting and detailing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of structural and architectural drawings and proven experience working with concrete, steel, and metal stud detailing.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed structural drawings using AutoCAD based on engineering designs and specifications
- Interpret and work from structural and architectural drawings
- Produce accurate shop drawings for concrete, steel, and metal stud systems
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and project teams to ensure design accuracy
- Revise and update drawings based on feedback and project changes
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and company guidelines
- Maintain organized drawing records and documentation
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, or related field
- 2–3 years of experience in structural drafting and detailing
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
- Solid understanding of structural systems, including concrete, steel, and metal stud framing
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings
- High attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Skills
- Experience with other drafting or BIM software (e.g., Revit) is an asset
- Knowledge of local building codes and standards
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
