400 Bed State of the Art new Hospital Project in Barbados, Caribbean Island.

The new geriatric hospital at Waterford, St. Michael, Barbados is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art healthcare facility developed to replace the island’s aging elder-care infrastructure and significantly expand capacity for long-term and rehabilitative services. The multi-storey hospital is designed to accommodate over 400 beds across phased development, and incorporates specialized facilities including rehabilitation gyms and therapy pools, isolation wards, day-care services, and comprehensive support amenities. Engineered for resilience and sustainability, the facility features hurricane- and earthquake-resistant construction, energy-efficient systems, natural ventilation, and fully integrated backup utilities to ensure continuous operation. EIDS Consultants provided full structural design services for the project, designing the building as full precast building and delivering a robust and efficient structural solution tailored to the demands of a modern healthcare environment while addressing the hurricane and seismic challenges of the Caribbean region.  Solar panels are also provided at roof top for solar energy.  Building has been completed.
